Anthony Toole has lived in Hertfordshire for over 20 years.  He is standing as the Labour candidate for Welwyn Garden City South because he is committed to building and strengthening the community and creating a more sustainable environment.  

Anthony, who has a professional background in chemical and software engineering, has a wealth of experience to bring to the role of councillor and is well-equipped to tackle the important issues we face now and in the future.  

Locally, he has been active in several community projects including Food Smiles, a Hertfordshire based community farm, and Community Development Action Hertfordshire where he used his skills and knowledge of renewable energy sources to support the community.  He comments “I want to build a more accessible and sustainable Hertfordshire – improve public transport and the road infrastructure, expand active travel facilities, and ensure the benefits of green technology are shared by us all.” 

In his spare time, you’ll find Anthony exploring our beautiful countryside by bike or on foot and supporting our local pubs, as an active CAMRA member. He is ready to bring his diverse skills and passions to make Hertfordshire an even better place to live.
