In May 2025, Graham is standing as your County Council candidate for Hatfield Rural, and as your Borough Council candidate Brookmans Park and Little Heath.

Graham has lived in Welwyn Hatfield for the last 30 years. As a retired accountant he truly understands the value of money and the importance of taking tough decisions to ensure limited resources are invested wisely. He is committed to the core Labour values of fairness and a principled approach to public service. 

He has a particular interest in transport issues and deplores the potholed state of so many of our roads. The Conservatives have been in power in Hertfordshire County Council for too long and allowed roads to deteriorate to their current state. Graham comments, “We need to elect Labour councillors to ensure the £9m promised to Hertfordshire from the Government will be spent to repair our road network quickly.” 

Graham believes education is the greatest means to make society wiser and more useful and would like to see greater investment in our schools and the establishment of a SEND taskforce in Hertfordshire to turn around the system that is currently failing our families.

He has personal experience of the importance of an effective health service; having been treated for both a heart condition and bladder cancer. 

The choice at this election is clear. More mismanagement under the Conservatives at County Hall or vote Labour on 1st May to back Hertfordshire’s potential and the change we voted for at the General Election last year.
