Welwyn Hatfield Constituency Labour Party Welwyn Hatfield Constituency Labour Party
Saturday, 6th April saw the launch of our 2024 Local Election campaign at Roe Hill Hall in Hatfield, with special guest Baroness Sharon Taylor.
Baroness Taylor, alongside Welwyn Hatfield Labour Group chair Lynn Chesterman, our General Election candidate Andrew Lewin and Tom Plater, Labour candidate for Police and Crime Commissioner, spoke at the event, stating that Labour will continue to move Welwyn Hatfield forward. With Conservative chaos nationally we need strong Labour voices to stand up to local people.
As the focal point of our local campaign, we unveiled our five pledges to you, which are to:
- Support our community through the Conservative cost of living crisis;
- Combat antisocial behaviour, litter and fly-tipping for cleaner, safer streets;
- Fight for better roads, paths, cycleways and pavements after the neglect of Conservative-run Hertfordshire County Council;
- Invest in our town centres, promoting heritage and local business;
- Build homes for local people that are of good quality, affordable and properly insulated to protect our environment and keep bills low.
We can also proudly introduce our slate of sixteen candidates across Welwyn Hatfield for the Local Elections on Thursday, 2nd May 2024. Our candidates are:
